One of my favorite parts about having a capsule wardrobe is how creative I can get with my outfits. With only 21 pieces, each item needs to work double (sometimes triple) duty in my closet. Versatile pieces allow me flexibility when mixing and matching and I even surprise myself when I make some of my outfits.
This month, I added a white fitted sweater for a couple of reasons. One, I just got it for Christmas and wanted to wear it. Two, this sweater has a different silhouette than any sweater in my base wardrobe. That different silhouette comes in handy when trying to layer! Third, this piece is in my neutral color scheme.
(this sweater looks to be sold out in white but this color way is right up my alley or this olive green color!)
Look #1: Sweater + Jean Skirt
Why this works: a thin sweater tucks in nicely to different bottoms, like this denim skirt. The natural color also allows for a fun pair of flats to steal the show.
Look #2: Sweater + LBD
Why this works: because this sweater is tight fitting, it can provide extra warmth under a jumper dress. A pop of color breaks up an otherwise dark outfit.
Look #3: Sweater + Joggers
Why this works: a plain color pairs nicely with the army green joggers. I also love the texture play with a knit and silk combo.
Look #4: Sweater + Jumpsuit
Why this works: Can you tell I love how this sweater layers?! A comfy, cozy option for those days where everything feels off.
Look #5: Sweater + High Waisted Jeans
Why this works: Black and white is such a classic so this timeless ootd works for just about anything. A heeled bootie elevates the look to that drinks after work vibe.
Look #6: Sweater + Skinny Jeans
Why this works: skinny jeans are still cool (eye rolling at you, gen z) and I love a good jeans + tee combo. This outfit pulls together nicely with leather accents.
