I’ll be the first to admit that when it comes to decorating for the holidays, I’m the grinch. I just hate all the effort of redecorating for the 4 weeks I enjoy it. My philosophy then is that less is more. Now it doesn’t hurt that I live in 300 square feet and have no space for storing things let alone empty surfaces to fill with decorations.
But I do decorate, just a touch.
I started off with a mood board to help me settle on the vibe I wanted. Pretty much, creams, black and evergreen. I love the look of simple arrangements, bottle brush trees and Scandinavian design. Modern, not into that farmhouse look at all. Take a peek at my Pinterest board for more inspiration, but this is what I landed on.
Now, finding elements of this look in stores is tricky because I guess more people go for glitz & glam, more traditional red & green, or bright kitchy colors. I stuck to more simple grey and cream with dashes of green.
I tend to stick to a budget in everything I buy and decorations are no different. I tend to look for handmade pieces mixed with big box stores because I gotta keep it real. Some of my favorites are Etsy, World Market, CB2 and Target.
