Anyone else feeling hopeful for next year? I’m just so ready to leave 2020 behind. While it hasn’t been nearly as bad as it could be, I’m not ready to reflect. I’m moving myself forward, baby stepping all the way!
I actually really love setting goals and planning for a new year so this time each year I dig into what I want to accomplish, who I want to be, and how I plan to get there. I actually spend a couple weeks digging in and reflecting on each area of my life. I have some bigs goals this year and I’m ready to dive into them (I actually already have just a little bit 😉
In addition to setting goals for the new year, I love creating a vision board. Something about being able to visualize my future aspirations just gives me life. I print out pins from Pinterest on sticker paper and then cut them out. I will also add in washi tape and stickers to make it more decorative. I honestly can’t stop staring at the one I made this year. I think it’s my favorite ever!
Stating goals, and having some accountability is key to holding to these goals. So you all are like my accountability partner. I plan to check in at the end of each 3 month quarter to update my progress. I will be checking in with my goals on a weekly and monthly basis with this planner and I’m so excited!
This planner is set up with 8 different categories which is perfect for someone who needs to do a bit more adulting in every aspect in life. Hopefully you can get some ideas if you are looking to set some goals! Let’s set some goals together!
Personal Goals
*Daily Gratitude: there’s a space to write a gratitude everyday in this planner so I thought it’d be an easy way to focus more the positive things in life
*Skincare Routine: I’d love to have a more consistent regimen that helps my skin stay moisturized, clear of acne and any anti-aging I should be doing at 26
*Read 21 Books: I did 20 books in 2020 so I thought I’d keep it going this year!
Fun & Recreation Goals
*Blog/Instagram Regularly: this is a hobby that I want to take more seriously, and it’s kinda Covid proof! I like writing and taking pictures so why not document it all!
*Travel More: I’d love to check some states off my list, maybe a road trip this summer. I’m not setting this goal too much, with Covid and all that. But I LOVE traveling and want to get back to it in a safe way soon!
*Local Adventures: Whether this is hiking a new trail or trying a new coffee spot, I want to experience my city and make local places my focus.
Work & Learning Goals
*Change Careers: I’m keeping this process a little close to the chest until I know more, but I’m excited to see how I can make a big change in this area of my life!
Family & Relationship Goals
*Set up a Card Bank: I’m terrible about having cards to send to people for all those events that come up during ones life. Things like thank yous, just because, wedding, birthday and a new baby, all need cards. I’d like to have a box of cards with everything I need to wish people well!
*See People More: Covid makes this difficult in some aspects but I want to make it a point to see my friends and family more. Whether its digitally or in person, relationships are important and I don’t want them to be left behind.
Health & Wellness Goals
*Eat Whole 30 More: I’ve done a few rounds of Whole 30 before but I’d really like to cook more and eat better this year
*Drink Water Regularly: I’ve been terrible about drinking enough water and I’d like to build up this habit more in the new year
*Run a Mile in Under 8 Minutes: Pretty self-explanatory but a better focus on exercising more is a good thing!
Spiritual & Personal Growth Goals
*Read the Bible in a Year: Another self-explanatory goal but one that I’m excited to do again this year!
*Finishing a Write the Word Journal: These journals are so neat and I can’t wait to dive into the contentment one this year.
Financial Goals
*Save More: This goal has a specific number attached to it but I think by looking into my Roth IRA more, I can make it happen!
*Pay Off My Car: I’m so close on this one and this is the year I finally finish paying it off!
*Get a Credit Card: This has been on my to do list for over a year now…I need to just do it!
Physical Space Goals
*Declutter my Apartment: While I live in a studio apartment, I still have clutter that I need to clear out. I’d like to move this year and clearing the excess is the first step to doing that well.
*Upgrade Basics: From pots & pans, to bedding, and furniture, I’d love to slowly upgrade things I use regularly. This probably won’t be a goal I finish this year but something to work on over the next few years.
*Cleaning Schedule: During quarantine, I realized there are places in my tiny apartment I’ve never cleaned before (like baseboards & windowsills). This year I want to make a schedule for cleaning everything in my apartment on a regular basis.
[…] are half way through January! Which means that I’m halfway through Whole 30! One of my goals this year is to eat healthier and one way that I do that is by following Whole 30 in January. So I’m […]
